Poczta Pantoflowa [Slipper Mail] (2019, WIP)

In the beginning of 2019, Petersen discovered a family secret; that her grandmother had been involved in the civil resistance group Solidarność [Solidarity] during the Martial Law in Poland during the 1980s.

The grandmother's involvement forced her into exile in Greece, before achieving asylum in Denmark as a political refugee. In April 2019 Petersen and her grandmother traveled together to Łódź, Poland. Through fragmentations of intimate conversations between the artist and her grandmother made during the journey, notions of exile, freedom, memory, identity, and language come under scrutiny creating a poetic and deeply personal portrait of the artist's grandmother.
